Personal Financial Coaching for Life’s Transitions

Tackling Life’s Changes with Confidence

Many of my clients come to me amidst a major life transition.

A divorce has left them suddenly solo, the thought of starting a family has made them feel not be financially ready, or a diagnosis leaves them feeling that they are starting all over from scratch.

No matter what the transition, most of my clients don’t feel confident about their ability to manage their financial futures when they first reach out to me.

This is natural — but it doesn’t have to be normal.

As a financial coach specializing in life transitions, I provide a safe and listening ear to clients who are ready to investigate their financial fears and conquer them.

When we work together, you’ll discover your inner wisdom — wisdom that’s always been there if you just know where to look.

Want to know how it works?

here’s what you can expect

The Dragonfly Signature Coaching Program consists of 7 one-to-one coaching sessions in which we tackle the most important financial topics, themes, and actions you’re currently facing.

  • Schedule a free 15-minute video call where we’ll get to know each other and make sure our partnership is a good fit.

You’ll have a chance to share more about your situation and ask me any questions you have about whether financial coaching can help you.

(If I don’t think I can help you, I’ll tell you and point you in the right direction!)

  • Once you’ve decided to move forward, I’ll email you a contract and an invoice.

I’ll also send you a copy of my Financial Wheel of Life worksheet for you to complete before our first session.

Once that’s done, we’ll schedule your first session and hit the ground running!

  • Our first call will be longer than the rest (~90 minutes) so we have adequate time to dive deep into your situation and circumstances.

Based on your Financial Wheel of Life, we’ll identify the themes that will be most important for us to focus on over our next six sessions.

Then, we’ll pick the issue you’re most excited about to energize your work before our next session, which we’ll schedule two weeks out.

  • We will meet six more times at two-week intervals to tackle the questions, fears, and transitions we outlined in our Design call.

Each call will be 60 minutes and allow us to bring one topic or theme into focus with regard to your relationship with money.

We’ll also explore options for actions and behaviors that may move you closer to your goals.

    Typical coaching activities include:

    • Setting meaningful financial goals

    • Developing an action plan for what you can achieve

    • Identifying appropriate resources and tools for your situation

    • Monitoring your progress

    • Celebrating your success!

  • During our seventh and final coaching session, you’ll have a chance to reflect on what you’ve learned, celebrate the progress you’ve made, and create a plan for yourself moving forward.

And if you enjoyed financial coaching so much that you’re not ready for our relationship to end, we can discuss what an ongoing relationship might look like.

Your Investment

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Personal finance coaching involves regular one-on-one sessions tailored to help you understand and improve your money management, ensuring you achieve your financial goals.

A personal finance coach works with you to uncover both your external and internal resources, guiding you toward effective action plans.

    Personal finance coaching:

    • focuses on improving your long-term financial behaviors

    • facilitates your ability to set and achieve financial goals

    • helps you practice new behaviors and provides ongoing accountability

Through coaching, you can boost your self-confidence while adapting strategies to fit your evolving financial situation.

Financial coaching is not the same as financial planning. I do not handle your accounts or investments, nor do I advise you where you should keep your money. Our work together will focus mainly on your money mindset and behaviors.

  • Financial coaching is not the same as financial therapy and is not suitable for financial or mental health crises.

Coaching is ideal for those willing to reflect and practice positive financial behaviors as they work toward their goals, especially at times of financial transition.

  • The Dragonfly Signature Coaching Program is a $2,000 investment, due in one payment at the time of signing your contract. The first session will last 90 minutes, and then we’ll schedule six additional 60-minute sessions at two-week intervals.

If $2,000 is a barrier to you receiving the financial coaching you’re ready for, ask about my “Pay What You Can” option. I am passionate about getting you on your way to financial confidence.

  • I do not have a set curriculum, but I do have a toolbox of resources that I pull from after our 90-minute Design call. Each client comes with different circumstances, and the topics and challenges for newlywed finances are different from those embarking on financial management after divorce. I tailor your coaching experience to the topics most pressing to you.

  • Financial coaching requires inner reflection and may trigger some uncomfortable feelings. If you’re ready to take charge, work through those uncomfortable feelings, and experience the freedom that comes with financial change, then financial coaching is right for you.

(If you’re looking for someone to manage your money and investments, you may need a financial advisor rather than a financial coach.)

  • I work with both individuals and couples. I have found that in working with couples, it’s helpful if both people are fully invested in the process of financial coaching.

If you have a partner who isn’t ready for this conversation, you may have better success by meeting with me individually so you can take the time to dive deep, rather than spending that effort trying to involve a reluctant partner in the process.

The good news is that you can make changes to your own behavior and begin the process. Sometimes, an initially resistant partner becomes a receptive one when they see your confidence and wisdom emerge through a coaching experience.
